No sound on movie after burning DVD

After creating a new DVD project, adding movies (mpeg files) to it and customizing the menu screen, when I preview it everything works fine but when I burn it to the DVD then put the completed DVD into my home DVD player the menu comes up and everything seems to be working fine and I then select a movie to play it transitions to the movie and it plays on the screen but I have no audio what-so-ever. I looked on Apple's support page and downloaded the latest updates and tried burning the project (and other projects) to a new DVD and the same thing keeps happening. I am running a MacBook Pro 2.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 160 GB HD, 2 GIG RAM, Superdrive running OSX 10.5.2 Leopard. Is anyone else out there experiencing the same or similar problems? Hopefully someone out there can assist me with this problem.

Thanks.

I think the standard advice is to burn a disc image, rather than burning directly to a blank DVD. Then play the disc image with the Apple DVD Player to verify that the audio is working. If it is, then you can burn the disc image to a DVD, using the Apple Disc Utility. You may also have better results burning at 4X, rather than a higher speed. Another factor may be the brand of DVD you're using - Verbatim is often recommended, as well as a couple of others I can't think of right now.

I'm having the same issue. I preview the DVD and get everything fully-functional. I imported movies as .mp4 files into iMovie, made a movie then exported to iDVD. I always make a disc image first. When I view the image's AUDIO_TS folder there is nothing in it. All the files are under the VIDEO_TS. I have 31Gb free space so I'm certain I have enough space. Just last weekend this was all working fine. Please, someone help!

SOLVED:

DOWNLOAD MPEG STREAMCLIP. I EXPORTED THE FILE (WHICH WAS MPEG 1 MUXED) TO QUICKTIME FORMAT (MOV). THIS ENABLED QUICKTIME TO OPEN THE FILE WITH SOUND (WHICH I WAS ORIGINALLY UNAWARE THAT IT COULDN'T PLAY SOUND FROM MPEG1 MUXED FORMAT).

LOADED THE .MOV FORMAT INTO IDVD, HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS. BEST OF ALL, MPEG STREAMCLIP IS FREE. I'M BUSY CONVERTING ALL OF MY FILES RIGHT NOW.

(SORRY FOR THE CAPS LOCK...)
