Mac Mini as an external HD

I want to use temporarily my Mac Mini as an external HD to my iMac, but even with firewire connection I cannot mount the Mac Mini on my iMac.

Who would have a solution ? Thanks in advance

Simply connecting them won't work...

Start up your Mini while holding the T key.

Or go to the panel "Startup Disk" in System Preferences, and click "Target Disk Mode..."

Thanks to all of you

I tried to start holding the T key just the firewire logo appeared on the screen, rolling like a ball and nothing else happen.

I use 10.3.9, I went to the system preferences "start up disk, and have not found any way to get the Target Disk mode.

I have no monitor to the Mac Mini and want to use it as an external HD

Do you see the FireWire logo on the iMac's monitor? You need to hold the "t" key down on the Mac mini while starting it up, not the iMac. Then the Mac mini will appear as an external drive connected to the iMac.
