Sanyo HD 1000still photos from this camera

I recently purchased the above camera and the only way for me to download movies is using a Hollywood Dazzle bridge. I still cannot download any photos from this camera. When attached, it is not recognized on my desktop. Please help. Thank you

Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.5.2)

This won't work with iPhoto because it's a Camcorder. Take the card out of it and pop it into a USB card reader.

I already tried that and my computer does not "see" that card. There must be a better way

Thanks for letting us know.

How big is the card? Does your Reader or your Mac address cards that big? What format is the card? Have you checked your USB ports? Why does there have to be a better way?

I have a Sanyo Xacti. I know it's not the same, but I'm sure some of the functions are pretty close. When you plug in the camera, are you looking at the camera screen? Mine asks if I want to use it as a card reader or camera.

I just looked at the manual for the HD1000. The instructions are pretty much the same as mine, but I don't have a dock.

Press the ON/OFF button to turn the camera on, and set the camera in the docking station. The USB Connection Screen appears on the camera’s monitor.

Select “COMPUTER”, and press the SET button. The screen to select the computer connection mode
appears. CARD READER: Use the camera as an external drive of the computer.
