Need Front Page 2002 like App

I am a bone head with HTML and really wish that Front Page for Windows could be imported to the Mac. I was so happy when MS released Entourage which in my opinion is the best email client ever for the Mac, but that is another story.

Okay since I am such a bonehead, BBEDIT is completely worthless at best. I am still stuck using Claris Home Page (1997) and really want to UPGRADE but I have yet to find a easy to use, and cheap app to replace it. Front Page for Windows is really, really nice, but I use a Mac and do not own a modern PC. However I do own a 1999 PC laptop and maybe one day I'll buy a used PC laptop a few years old so I can run Front Page, or maybe you guys can help me by telling me about iWeb.

I ahve heard that iWeb DOES NOT like publishing for non .Mac sites. This is a major problem, since I do not own a .mac account and dont ever plan to get one, and besides its blocked at my school. I publish through yahoo web hosting, which can be accessed via FTP or web. Would iWeb work, or would it harass the living daylights out of me, for not publishing to a .Mac account?

What is it about FrontPage that you like so much?

I created my first ever website using it and whilst it was okay and did the job that I wanted for a while, it never looked that professional. Unfortunately, having used FrontPage, I feel that a website created with FrontPage always sticks out like a sore thumb. Not so with iWeb however.

I then decided to switch to iWeb and purchased a .Mac account and I have to say that the sites I have created with iWeb are much more professional looking than my FrontPage site ever was. I have found that I can be much more creative using iWeb and I can re-create a look and try it and fiddle around with text boxes and shapes to get the look that I want. Changes the colours too and I think it looks extremely professional.

Lots of people do not have .Mac accounts and use ftp clients such as Transmit, Cyberduck and Fetch to upload files to their hosts. It is not a problem to do, just publish to desktop instead of .Mac. Some features will not work if published externally, but these can easily be solved in other ways.

I like the ease of use in Front Page, the Grammar checker and the feel as if I am in MS Word. BBEDIT is WORTHLESS to me, since it requires detailed knowledge of HTML which I do not have and refuse to learn when apps like Front Page exist.

Okay lets answer soem iWeb questions.

1. Can I purchase it separate or does it have to be in a suite?
2. FTP is blocked at my school as well as .Mac. But I can publish via the Yahoo web hosting page. Would this work with iWeb?
3. I do not have a need to publish Multimedia websites, and the preview of iWeb on the apple website made me think that Apple is only concerned about MM websites. My website is a information website. I could use a built in spell check and Grammar checker. Does iWeb have one?
