Application Support Folder

Hello, I'm sorry if this is a very newb question, but my question is this: Can I safely delete the Application Support folder? I have many programs that I need to run and they take up almost all of my 120gb hard drive. I downloaded disk inventory X and found out that the "Application Support" folder was almost 25gb. I could really use this space, but didn't know if it was important or just "support" files.

Sorry if this is posted in the wrong location, this is the one I found most applicable to my question.

MacBookPro2,2, Mac OS X (10.4.9)

*"Can I safely delete the Application Support folder?"*

Only if you don't want a lot of your applications to run.

Specifically what was taking up the 25GBs? If some is related to apps you don't use, then you can delete those files. Otherwise leave them be.
