USB stick corrupted, unable to format

I hope this is the right place for this...

anyway, I have a usb stick. Actually, its a micro SD card for my phone, but it acts like one when I plug it in with a USB adapter I have. I was trying to move some music onto it, and everything went kaput. Long story short, I can't format it or anything.

If I try to format it, Disk Utility starts to, but then gives me: Disk Erase failed with the error: Input/output error

and the thing ejects. When I try to verify/repair it, I get: could not read boot block (Input/output error)

and it ejects.

So it looks like the boot block is corrupted or something. Can't format it, repair it, verify it, or anything.

Any ideas?

Thanks for your time.

EDIT: I've also tried to format it on a PC running Windows XP(gasp!), but the same thing happens.
