Rename Volume Labels

Hi All,
I just installed Windows XP on my MacBook Pro, it works just fine.
when I login to my OSX the volume label's it shows on the desktop are "Untitled and Untitled 1", I am wondering if there is a work around to rename these labels with something meaning full for example: Mac OSX and Windows XP.

thank you

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.5.2)

You could have named them at the time you partitioned the drive. It's easy enough, however. You rename a drive the same way you rename any file or folder. If you don't know how that's done then select Mac Help from the Finder's Help menu, search for 'rename' and look for the entry labeled Rename Your Hard Drive.

sharpguy,

To rename your Mac Hard Disk:

1. Click the hard disk icon on your desktop and press Return.
2. Type a name. You cannot include a colon or start the name with a period.
3. Press Return.

To rename your Windows Hard Disk you will have to boot up in Windows and rename the C: Drive.

1. Click on My Computer
2. Highlight Local Disk (C)
3. Click on the File menu
4. Click on Rename and type a new name. I called mine Windows XP
5. Now reboot in OSX

Good Luck,

Tim
