Q: Need Help REMOVING Audio Codecs & Preventing Removal of Video Files.
I am attempting to integrate an iPod Video 5.5 Gen (30GB) device with a pair of 3D glasses but with two seemingly odd requirements.
I need help to do two things:
1. I need to prevent the user from playing audio files on the iPod.
2. I need to prevent the user from removing a video file which he or she will be watching on the device.
I have looked into RockBox & iPodLinux but both do not have the video-out functionality that I need with the glasses. With RockBox, I would be able to remove the audio codecs, thereby preventing the user from playing any sort of audio file. Also with RockBox, any video file placed in the home folder of the iPod would not be seen on any media player other than the device itself, thereby preventing the user from removing it (Unless they hooked the iPod to their computers and explored its contents - Which I would try to hide - But at least it would not show up on iTunes).
