Lock Folder Name

Nope, that's not what I need. I need to prevent someone from accidently changing the name of a folder but still allow those on my network the ability to "Read and Write" to the contents of that folder.

"sticky bit"---that goes well beyond anything I understand. I am a simple enduser 🙂

Is there another way to lock a folders name?

I understand what you are saying but does not seem to be working. The folder I want to prevent a name change has ~ 10,000 folders and multiple 1000's sub-folders enclosed (client database). These enclosed folders and subfolders need to be modified including the name of these folders by others on the network. The main folder, if I do what you suggest, still allows me to change the name of the main folder when I make it "read only" but then locks out the enclosed folders from be modified (including name changes here) despite having them "Read and Write". I must be missing something very obvious 😟 or maybe it can't be done.
