FireWire ports on iMac (2008) - how many pins?

Please forgive this question from a Mac newbie (recent Windows expatriate) -- how many pins are there on the FireWire ports on the iMac? I have a camcorder with a 4-pin jack and need to know what kind of cable to get to connect it to my iMac.

The Aluminium Intel iMacs (currently on sale) have one 9pin (FW800) and one 6pin (FW400) port. The 4pin (FW400) port can't power devices which is why Apple don't use them direct on their computers.

Hi

It's a 6-pin port (which is the standard "Firewire 400" port that all Macs have). Some Macs also have "Firewire 800" which is 9-pin. So you need a 6-pin to 4-pin cable.
