How do I record vocals in stereo?

Hi,

I'm trying out my new ART Tube project series with Logic Pro 8. Recording vocals using a shotgun mic, input via xlr, I can't seem to record in stereo, just in mono. Is there a setting in logic that I need to change to get stereo or is it something to do with the input?

Thanks.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.4.11)

You don´t have to duplicate a mono track in order to hear it through both speakers. Just pan it into center position and the signal will be equally distributed to both ouput channels. Stereo recording only makes sense if the signals from left and right side differ from each other like when you use two microphones which pickup the signal from different angles (or a stereo mic).
So record mono signals in mono - you can later add effects like reverb/chorus/flanging/stereo delays and much more to spatialize your mono signal.
