HELP! - iTunes restarts as soon as it's closed??!!! WTF?

I'm having the weirdest problem with iTunes. This just started happening recently, but have been using iTunes on this computer for years...

More often than not, when I close iTunes, it will re-launch immediately. The method in which I end the program does not have an effect (file-exit, or clicking the close-box in the upper right corner). Needless to say, iTunes is a beefy program and requires a lot of RAM, and when this problem occurs, my computer virtually freezes while iTunes restarts... very annoying when in the middle of other things. I usually have to close it 2 or 3 times before it decides to stay closed.

Anyone have any ideas? thanx!

I have the same problem. I'm running iTunes for Windows 7.6.2.9. iTunes consistently restarts itself after I click/select
- File > Exit, or
- Right-top-corner [X], or
- Right-click on iTunes tray icon and select Exit

Most of the time, it restarts ONCE. Couple times I noticed it restarted twice.

I'm on Windows XP Pro SP2.

Any ideas? Please dont blame Windows. Many Apple or non-Apple apps exit properly. This is not a "Windows" problem per se.

Thanks 🙂
Ivan
