Strange marks on iPod Classic back mirror.

Well, I bought this iPod 2 months ago and since first second it always have been in a case.
The first case I had was _DLO Urban_ and the second one which I still have is _Crumpler made from leather_.
Both are original and the iPod has never been taken out without a case.

Here is a pic:

I tried to focus as much as possible.
The main noticeable marks are between the 80GB sign and the iPod(Apple logo) sign.

Please let me know if this is a known issue and/or there is anything I can do to fix these ugly marks.

Thnks you very much

windex didn't help, thanks for the idea.

It's hard for me to believe that the cases caused these marks (no, it's not just scratches).
The iPod has never been in food/dirt surroundings. It's neither inside my bag or on my table in my sleep room (I even don't insert it inside my pocket!).

I'm sorry from being unfavorable but this is the reailty.
I wouldn't write this post if it won't such strange.

UPDATE

Ok, While I was thinking this morning about this issue, I remembered that my sister ALSO has the same problem with her iPod Nano 1G. She used the have ALSO a leather case of Incase, but in her iPod it looks very bad cause she used this case for long time.
Another point is that the damaged area in my iPod (the pic that I showed here) is very couple to my Crumpler and the rest of the back mirror shouldn't touch the case, so it just makes me think that i know what the problem is.

So now I'm lost with my minds, what should I do it's new iPod and this looks abnormal for a new one.
I don't think Apple gonna help me with this issue,
I can't blame anyone, all I can say is be careful if you buy leather case.

The big question is: *Is that failure of Apple?*

I have an Init leather case from Best Buy. I keep my iPod classic 160GB in it. It's made for the 80GB, but the 160GB fits in their perfectly. I've had my iPod in there since I first bought it way back in January.

Being curious, I took it out to check the condition. Other than the fingerprints, there was not even a scratch. The inside of the case is covered in a rich felt-like material. When I use the iPod it opens much like a book as opposed to a cellphone.

Check to make sure you're not around sand or anywhere there is fine particles. Even a kitchen table with dry bread can make your iPod susceptible to scratches. I keep mine in a jacket or up in my room, away from foods.
