Yeah, Radtech has a similar product called [Screensavrz|http://www.radtech.us/Products/NotebookScreenSavrz.aspx] and they do help in keeping the keys away from the screen, a possibility if the lid gets scrunched too hard against the case while in storage. If you go shop for these items and have a late model MBP with the multitouch trackpad, beware that the type of leather used by OtherWorldComputing for their brand of protectors is incompatible with the trackpad, which will freeze and lock up upon contact with the leather. I had to sell mine and get a different brand after their tech support confirmed this odd interaction.

I think screen protectors fall into the category of products that exist so you can pay mostly for your own peace of mind, without much actual benefit.

99% of the key marks you see on the screen are only finger oils and grime, not actual scratches. They can be removed using the method Apple recommends: A clean, moist cloth. I've owned four Apple laptops and never bought a screen protector.

The only time it might be a good idea is if you often carry your laptop so that it's always squeezed under pressure between books in a bag, but frankly, if you're carrying your laptop that way...you shouldn't be, it'll cause bigger and more expensive problems than just a scratched screen!

Highly recommend the Shaggymac screen protectors & Optimist Prime as a simple, effective cleaning and protection solution that will last the life of your notebook. We have used these since the PB Ti days and are worth every penny. When its time to resell your laptop - the mint screen will bring top re$ell value.
