htc tytn II compatability

i am on the verge of purchasing a htc tytn II pda handset, but have just been told that because it uses microsoft activesync it will not work with my mac.

having searched the forums i have found out some stuff about isync and some plugins but am still a little confused, being a mac novice.

basically, will the tytn II work with my mac? and will i be able to upload PDA format books onto it from my mac?

thank you in advance

I think what you'll need is this:

http://www.markspace.com/missingsync_windowsmobile.php

but check with them that the "TyTN II" is supported as only the "TyTN" is specifically listed.
