Importing MP3 Files
Que Pasa Logicians:
I will keep my inquiry as brief as possible. Basically, I've been attempting to import an MP3 file into Logic via the Audio window in order for it to be converted into a PCM file here are the steps I've taken with no success.
1. In the Audio window, choose Audio file> Add Audio File.
2. In Open File dialog choose MP3 file.
3. Click Add button MP3 file gets added to the import file list.
4. Click Done button in lower right corner of Open File dialog.
5.I immediately get a Message... Skipping file " .mp3" because it can't be read.
After having gone through these five steps nothing happens, the file doesn't get converted into a PCM type file ( AIFF, WAV, or SDll file), the file doesn't get converted or added into my Audio window, and when I take a look in my Audio files folder the new file doesn't show up in their either, only the MP3 file remains as it was in the Audio files folder.
In a nutshell I would like to know if this method of attempting to import and convert MP3 files is a flawed approach, or if someone could be good enough to give me a tip as to another method of doing the import and conversion of an MP3 file into Logic.
I'm currently using the latest ver.of Logic Pro 7.1.1. I greatly appreciate any suggestions or tips addressing this particular inquiry, thanks!
