    I just got an iPhone 3G last week. I sync music with my home computer, and contacts and calendar with my work computer. I bought one song on my phone and when I synced at home it transferred. A couple of nights ago I bought two more songs from the phone but had not yet synced on my home computer. Last night I noticed that those two songs had disappeared.

    I also note that I never got an email receipt for those two songs (I did for the first and had purchased more via computer after that). Perhaps it does not "commit" iPhone purchases until you sync with your "music" computer? Perhaps syncing even contacts/calendar with a different computer causes the issue?

    Ok, so now the two songs showed up on the latest email receipt from Apple, so I clicked on the "report a problem" link. However, all that did was open iTunes and show my purchased page where there was only a "done" button. So I apparently can't really report a problem and don't have those songs that I bought...

    I have the same Issue. Bought an Album and a Sinle through my Iphone, Downloaded and now has dissappeared. In Itunes it doesn't even show in my Purchases. Only Evidence I purchase sit is in my Itunes Invoice. I have reported the problem, waiting for the response. They better let me redownload it!!!

    Answer appeared on another thread in the discussion boards. If you have the iphone set to manually manage music, don't force a sync of the music library or you'll erase the purchased song. Instead, go to the "File" menu and select "transfer music purchased from", and it'll just transfer the songs purchased from the iphone to main itunes library.

    If it doesn't work first time, try reconnecting iphone or restarting itunes.

    Ok, so there's another "report problem" link for each song in the invoice. I used that and was reimbursed for one of the songs (since I re-downloaded both), still waiting on the other. However yesterday I discovered that another purchase also has disappeared as well.

    I think it might have to do with syncing with two computers (I sync calendar and contacts at work, music at home).

    Same problem, but I noticed only two songs disappear - both purchased on the same day and disappeared on the same day, about 10 days after purchase. Also, both songs disappeared from my computer and my iphone.

    Unlike some of the other users, I think I purchased these songs using my computer and transferred them to the iphone.

    I had the same problem today – purchased an album on my iPhone, then when I connected it to my mac to transfer some more music, the purchased album was gone.

    I manually sync my music on my home computer. At work I sync podcasts with my iPhone.

    I have bought music at work once too, but that transferred back properly.

    I honestly think it's nuts that you can't download an album again without paying. If the computer is authorized to play my purchased music then what's the problem??

    I had the same problem.
    I purchased an album on iTunes Wifi store about 10 days ago, yesterday it disappeared. But the wierd thing is, that only that album disappeared (I have purchased more songs after that on the wifi store).

    I would never think I'll have such problems with iTunes or Apple at all. I'm really disappointed.

    One more thing that started happening a couple of days ago: I purchased a music video on iTunes (home computer) and dragged it on to my iPhone. A couple of hours later the video disappeared from my iPhone. I dragged it again. After a while it disappeared again. and so on..
    I manually manage music and videos on only 1 computer.

    It would seem that if you simply go to your menu bar in iTunes and choose

    File>Transfer purchases from "youriPhonesName"

    before syncing with your computer you should be ok. This may require that you disable automatic syncing (of all content from the iPhone by unchecking "automatically sync when the iPhone is connected" from the "Summary" tab, not just music. It sounds like most of you are already manually managing your music).

    I've had the same thing happen to me with an entire album and a number of singles. I purchase them on the iPhone then synch with the only PC I use for synching and they all disappear. I manually manage my music as well.

    This is extremely frustrating. Does anyone know if Apple has a planned fix or how they are responding to this bug?

    I have had this happen to me and i would like to know how to get it back...where do I contact apple to get this music again? Do I just email them or is there a specific email address or thing to do?

    Same problem with 2 of my songs (that I know of). I used the "Report a Problem" link and they allowed me to redownload the songs -- judging by the age of this topic though, this problem has been going on for at least 3 or 4 firmware versions, so Apple really should get on fixing this bug
