Why does no one make this cable?
A simple solution would be an extension cable, 30-pin female to 30-pin male. I finally found one made by CableJive, which I bought from Radtech. However, it won't work because I'm using an Otterbox Defender case (which is excellent), and the case is designed to accept an Apple cable. While the electronics probably work, the plastic piece that surrounds the female end, which should be able to plug into the iPhone is not the same shape as the original Apple part, so it interferes with the case. It makes no sense to my why CableJive, who must know that their product will be almost exclusively used with iPhones and iPods, would shape that piece differently than Apple did.
I have no confidence that a second party product will work. I will probably use the original Apple cable on the iPhone end, but it's a male USB on the other end. Now, I have to figure out how to convert a male USB to a 30-pin female.
Can anyone help me?
