Cursor moves after enter an email address or URL

This is driving me crazy. I'll be busy typing away and when I enter a URL or email address after some delay Mail decides to make it into a link and when it does that if repositions the cursor before the link so that I am typing text in the wrong part of the email. How do I stop this?
