ELECTRIBE-MIDI CONTROLLER

Once i got Logic pro 7 just about all of my gear went obsolete-i was wondering if it is possible to use the korg Electribe as a external Midi controller for Logic? Anyone out there know if this works?

Yes it does work, I came across this by accident a few days ago when using Ultrabeat while my Korg ER1 mkII was running.
First ensure that Logic can see your MIDI interface. Then connect the Electribe MIDI output to your Mac MIDI interface input, select an Instrument track and assign it an instrument such as Ultrabeat. Then set the MIDI channel to 10 (or ALL) and arm the channel, by clicking the channel Record button. Now play the Electribe or tap any of the Electribe's voice buttons and you should hear Ultrabeat's voices being triggered by the Electribe.
To get Logic and the Electribe to sync connect the Mac MIDI interface output to the Electribe MIDI input and make sure Logic is set to transmit MIDI Clock and the Electribe is configured to EXT MIDI Clock input.

I've yet to figure out a way of using the Electribe knobs as controllers but this is still a great way of trying out existing Electribe rhythm patterns with new sounds.
