installer unable to validate contents of Additional Speech Voices

Trying to upgrade my G5 tower from 10.4.11 to 10.5. I have tried an Upgrade and finally Archive and Install, deselecting Additional Fonts and most of the Printer Drivers that I don't use. It always fails with this similar message. "The installer could not validate the contents of the "AdditionalSpeechVoices" package. Contact the software manufacture for assistance. Please restart and install again.

Any suggestions?

After the language page of the installer pull down the Utilities menu at the top and select System Profiler. In the sidebar on the left, select Memory. It may say a bank of RAM is empty that your know has RAM in it, or some message that the RAM is bad.

If so, try removing the additional RAM chip and installing again. If it installs Leopard, you can replace the RAM (after shutting down, unplugging, etc., of course).
