Booting from a Windows image on a server

Is it possible to boot a Mac Pro from a remote Windows image via Boot Camp and if so, what is the correct procedure?

iMac 2.16 GHz 24" Intel Core 2 Duo, 2GB RAM, Mac OS X (10.5.2), Kensington Turbo Mouse, 500GB WD External via FW800

I know that BC cannot create a partition on an external drive and this might suggest that BC is not the tool to use for booting windows from an external network drive.
Others have installed Windows on an external driver w/o using BC and therein may lie the solution.
I believe Vista is superior in this respect because it is more EFI-friendly, but it may be possible with FAT32 and XP using a bootmanager such as rEFIt or some other 3rd party SW.
Just a few thoughts.

This is rather older topic but I feel like answering it anyways.

The answer is no. You wouldn't be able to boot off the network since you'd have to be using PXE, which is a net boot built into most non-apple BIOSs. While your MacBook pro itself can netboot but it would not be able to pick up on a window's net boot network option.

If you're looking to boot through PXE on a network on a Mac then you're best to go with VMware fusion. With Fusion you can access the BIOS and set it to do a netboot by PXE. I've been able to start an image like this before on Fusion.
