iPhone won't hold charge

I have had my iPhone for about six months, suddenly it won't hold a charge. I have tried charging it using my computer and also through the usb to the outlet. The charge symbol appears but my battery icon continues to be red?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.5.2)

If the phone is hacked, this could interfere with the phone's ability to charge.

If it's not hacked, you'll need to either call AppleCare or make an appointment at the Genius Bar in an Apple Store.

I should note I have also tried using someone elses usb cord to charge as well.

Your location is listed as Mexico. Either you are paying the insane international rates to use the phone or someone modified the phone to work in Mexico.
