Apple software for windows has an invalid signature

I too have "apple software for windows has an invalid signature" in an endless cycle trying to go from 2.0 to 2.1

Took 40+ minutes for Apple phone support to suggest just installing new QuickTime and it will include the new Apple Software Update, so they say...

Is it possible that the download servers actually have an invalid signature on the software?

Could anybody at Apple actually look and check?

I'm wondering if I shouldn't just abandon quicktime. It's not like I use it that much anyway...

Lots, Other OS, Too many to mention

The only Apple software I have installed on the Windows XP Virtual Machine is Bonjour for Windows.

John, you may have a specific issue related to that fact.

Launch your ASU, and then go "Help > About Apple Software Update". Does it say you've got a *version 2.0.0.21*?

I'm checking on this because after some testing on my PC, I've determined that with a *version 2.0.2.92* of ASU in place, I can download and install an ASU 2.1 with no problems. However, I then uninstalled my BonJour (initially installed as part of an iTunes install in my case) and existing ASU version, and then ran the BonJour for Windows 1.0.4 standalone installer. The version of ASU that installed for me from *that BonJour install* was an ASU 2.0.0.21 ... and ASU 2.0.0.21 will return an invalid signature message for me if I use it to try to download an ASU 2.1.

I'm getting the same error:

I'm on Win XP (boot camp). The "Apple Software Update" dialog box shows "Apple Software Update for Windows" - Version "2.1" - Size " 1.99MB"

"This update is recommended for all users of Apple Software Update for Windows and includes general fixes that improve its reliability and user interface."

When I click install the software starts to download, errors and then checks for new updates. The check returns the same update that just failed.

Any help would be appreciated.
