Midi over LAN.

I'm trying to set up midi over LAN between my PB and my G5.

When I try to connect, I keep getting an error msg: "192.168.0.2:5004 refused the connection request"

Has anybody had the same problem ?
...or had it up and running successfully ?

You problem may be due to firewalls.

If firewalls are active, you probably need to make a rule for the port 5004 (at least according to your post of the address "192.168.0.2:5004", that appears to be the port in question).

If you are using MOL-CP, I think MusicLab recommends opening up port 11000.

Or if you are safely hidden behind a network router, just turn off the firewalls. You'll get better protection from the hardware router, as long as no ports are forwarded to either of your computers.

That was my first thought as well, but switching all fire walls off (including the one in my Netgear DG824M wireless router) didn't help....it's very strange !!

Any other ideas ?
