Orange Livebox & MacBook Pro Slow wireless connection

Hello,

Looks like we are a lot experiencing a slow or sporadic wireless connection.
I have done all updates, the MBP finds the livebox and connect properly but I have a very slow connection.

Lan connection is working fine and quick.

Please could somebody help me, this is my first Mac, if there is any tips or tricks to get a normal wireless speed.

What kind of wireless router or access point are you using?

Are you getting full signal?

Is the wireless router or access point around anything with a lot of metal or..

since you said that when you connect to your modem via ethernet then you could have a problem with your wireless infrastructure... if you have tested your wireless network with another computer and it works fine or if you went somewhere that has a hot spot then you can determine if there is an issue with your home network or an issue with the wireless card in the laptop...

Orange Livebox is an ADSL wireless router available to customers of Orange's Broadband, up to 8MB :

* 802.11b/g Wi-Fi router
* Bluetooth adapter
* Ethernet ports
* RJ11 socket for VoIP calls using Orange Talk
* USB host port specifically for using a standard USB printer on the network, which Orange is calling "Liveprint"
* USB port for connection to a PC

Manufactured by Inventel.

Working fine with a PC.
No metal frame around, full signal reception on MBP, just very slow.

For people who gets slow wireless connexion with their Orange livebox, try to set up another channel on the Livebox. I have change the channel which was 1 (default) with channel 8 and my wireless is working fine at good speed.

I enjoy now the NO wire !

Here are instructions on how to change the frequency. I am running through them to try to solve the problem.
