adressinng wrong paper tray on a Canon CLC 3200 with Mac OSX Leopard

Hello,
We have a Canon CLC 3200 with a Fiery ColorPass C1 and it works well until 10.4 but now with Leopard (10.5.2), we have problems to send our document in the right tray of the printer. When I choose the tray 1, the printer try to take the sheet from the manual feed. When I send my document to the tray 2 the Canon try to print from the tray 1 etc... It works as if they where a shift of tray and it's not possible to print a document from the tray 4.
the canon comes with 4 trays.
have somebody got thru this problem ?
Thanks in advance.

We had experienced this issue with our Canon iR C3220 that was using the internal Canon board rather than the Fiery option. Canon found that when we used the ppd only, this problem would occur, but if we used the full Canon driver, the problem did not occur. They also found that if we set a paper type for particular cassettes, such as letterhead, we could print to the desired cassette by selecting paper type rather than paper source.

But since we replaced this machine with a Canon iR C5158 with imagePASS-H1, I don't believe we have experienced this problem. I will confirm this when I get back to work Monday.

Thanks for your answers, we print from any application and the tray are shifted. I found that it is only a shift and i believe that i can modify some .plist files to stop the problem. I did'nt try it yet but as soon as i have some new i will post it.
The shift is tray 1 --> manual feed
tray 2 --> tray 1
Tray 3 --> tray 2
Tray 4 --> tray 3
and to reach the tray 4 it should be the big capacity tray but it is not on the printer so i can't do it without modify the apropriate .plist.

If you still have ideas (for this .plist)

Thanks in advance

Our iR C5185 with H1 v2.0 does not have this problem. I can select tray 2 and it will print from that tray. So it may have something to do with CUPS not parsing the ppd information correctly, as the new Fiery drivers are more than just a ppd with a plugin. Are you using the Universal Binary version of the C1 driver? This new driver uses a new fierycupsfilter instead of the resident core version, which may be a possible cause.

Also, with regards to the plist, I don't think this is your answer. The selection of trays is made by referencing the printer's ppd for the appropriate postscript instructions. This information is kept in the job ticket with the spool file which is then passed through the fierycupsfilter for interpretation. For the printer to be selecting from the wrong cassette, either the ppd information is not being selected correctly or the fierycupsfilter is not reading the selection. Either way, I doubt it is something that could be fixed by modifying a plist.
