viewing multi part mime message

I get multi part mime messages in mail doesn't seem to parse correctly and much of the message is garbled. The two ways that I've found to fix the situation is to rebuild the mailbox or open up the mail in entourage, then go back to mail. Neither of these solutions is ideal as I have a pretty big inbox so rebuilding usually takes some time, and I don't like to open entourage just to get the message to download correctly cause I am used to using mail.

"This is a multi-part message in MIME format."

This is the first line of the message that I normally get and there is no header information displayed in the body of the message.

Aside from asking people to send their message in plain text (which I won't be able to do I'm sure), is there something I can do on my end pre-emptively so that these message get downloaded correctly?
