And the duet works okay with Leopard?

I've got the same problem many other folks have. I have a Presonus Firebox and my brand new week old Mac Pro decided today it no liked to communicate with it. I'm looking for a replacement interface since, after searching the threads, it seems this has been an ongoing problem with the presonus (and others) for some time.

This is absolutely positively UNTRUE. I have been using a MOTU Ultralite for a couple of years with Logic 7 and TIGER, and for about 5 months with Logic 8 and TIGER. I have never had a single problem with their drivers with any operating system, they are ROCK SOLID.

I also have an M-Audio Firewire 410, and their drivers for TIGER are OK, but for LEOPARD (especially 10.5.3) are very unpredictable for me.

MOTU Ultralite is an AWESOME piece.

Yes.

I just bought mine a few days ago (waiting for the 10.5.3 updates) and I have to say that it sounds amazing! Also, I have plugged in, unplugged while in sleep mode, etc... rock solid!

I should also mention that the update seemed to fix all my instability/computer crashes in general, my firepod is very stable now as well... just not using it much.

Good Luck!

I love my Ensemble. I was using an 828mkII but when it failed I tried the Ensemble and I have never looked back. Apogee is the company to watch right now. They have shaken the market with the Duet as well. The Symphony system is the best interface period. Apogee is also working on network audio
for the Symphony as well........great company to support.
For $500 there is nothing better than the Duet for sound quality.
The Ensemble seems a little expensive until you use it and then it seems like a great deal considering
four good mic preamps.
Its true,Motu understands bang for the buck but after my 828mkII failed and I heard my Ensemble, I was transformed. The 828mk3 looks cool too but, I just love my Ensemble and I bet it sounds better overall.
