No Sharp Aquos Digital Audio Out

I am using HDMI to connect my ATV to my Sharp Aquos LC-32GP1U. Unlike other devices that are connected to this TV using HDMI (DVD player, DirecTV satellite receiver) the audio signal from the ATV is not being passed through to the TVs digital audio output. Has anyone else seen this problem?

I have the same problem but with the Mac mini - I connected the mini with DVI to HDMI cable into Input 6 [on Sharp Aquos LC-46SE94U] - connected audio from the headphone jack to a splitter into the red and white inputs associated with the hdmi input resulting in no sound through the TV speakers. When I connect the same cable to external speakers (bose) I get sound.

Picture is great - no sound is a problem. Any thoughts?

Go into the menu of the sharp, over to audio (or sound) and turn off HDMI audio. This should make the TV default to analog audio for that input. Or you may have to tell the sharp you using a DVI cable in the video menu which would make the TV default to the correct audio input. If this doesn't work try a different brand 3.5mm to RCA adaptor.
