Battery cable, DID I BREAK IT ?!?

So i was taking apart my 5.5G iPod to fix the headphone jack (which is working now 🙂 ) but the little ribbon cable that goes from the battery to the iPod (at the bottom near the USB port) came out, just the cable not with the little plastic piece so did I break it? or can i put it back in? please help! thanks in advance

Nope not broken. Those connectors are a little counter intuitive if you haven't run across them before. The flat cable is held in place by friction.
See the little flat plastic piece (grey or brown) with the little slot where the cable slides into? Well that piece moved vertically up just a bit to open up the slot. You then slide the battery cable in while gently holding the plastic tab thingy up. When the flat cable is in, now push down the tab thingy which will snug down the flat cable and hold it in place.
