how can i stop the music from looping in the iphoto slideshow

spent the entire day learning iphoto slideshow with music

now OT or anyone do you know how to stop the looping

this application is so difficult and fussy and wonderful at the same time

i bet noone out there knows how to use in depth

how do you stop the music from starting again in a slideshow
if you choose stop in the settings the show goes back to a default where every photo gets the same time. ITs *&*#&$*#^$&# up, really but the results are great.

OT

this is a very important book i am pitching to a major Publishing co.
there are 19 slides. 16 need 4 seconds, 3 need 10-15
i wrote the music also as background. I made it 10 seconds too short
so i added a second EMPTY song so that all these machinations you recommend
are not necessary. I have never found an apple application so frustrating
Now it is perfect thanks to you with the IDVD help. To this moment i dont know
how it works but it did. it switched from IDVD by itself to iphoto after it made the jpegs. what a day

How many slides do you have and how long is the audio track that you selected? iPhoto has a minimum audio length so that the slides don't go screaming past if there are too few photos for the length of audio.

Try adding a second track by creating a playlist in iTunes and selecting that playlist. Or reduce the number of slides in the slideshow.

If you've set unique timing for the various slides then you will need longer music.

To get max control of the music export the slideshow to a Quicktime movie file without music, import the file into iMovie HD 6 and add you tracks and edit them so the music stops where you want . Then export the result to a QT file or send it to iDVD, whatever the destination is.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

I'm not sure what you are trying to do here. Is the problem that you have more than one piece of music that you want to play but only the first selection is played? If that is the case, be sure that you have created a playlist in iTunes of the songs you want. Then while in the slideshow mode, select only the playlist, not individual songs.

In slideshow mode in the source
and using individual timings and transitions
if you uncheck the repeat song
all goes back to default
i choose the itunes drop down menu and choose the ONLY song in there the one i want for the show. When the show is over and there is about 10 seconds of empty space
the song repeats. I dont want that to happen how to make it stop

I don't know how to do what you are asking in iPhoto or if it is even possible. Have you tried selecting your music options first and then making the changes in the individual timings? Why not try to do an experiment to see if this works by trying it on just a few photos, rather than the entire slideshow?

If all else fails, I know that this can be accomplished in iMovie.
