Uninstall Motion 3?

How do I uninstall motion 3? I would like to figure out the best way to do it without having to mess with anything else like FCP, Compressor or DVDSP

the best way to uninstall is to not instal during application installation. Why do you want to uninstall Motion? Just curious. Clean instal and choose not to instal Motion during FCS2 installation is the best way NOT to instal Motion. You can also delete the app from application folder and Motion library/templates from ~/Library/Application Support/Final Cut Studio/Motion

honestly I feel like I was sold a product that was not up to par. there are all these programing issues with motion that make it soo dificult to use I have seen on the board all the problems. To be honest I feel like I wasted my money on a product that looked AMAZING in the movies but did not perform the way it looked. I have even tried it on really fast 8 cores systems and still had the same slowdown problems. I am going to be switching to AE

I'm sorry you're having problems. But keep in mind that this is only the 3rd version of this program and one where they added a significant enhancement (3D). After Effects is in version 10 or so; one must expect it to be a little further along in terms of stability. Even so, there are still things that can be done much easier in Motion than in AE.

I'm sure if you read the forums, you'll find all the issues plaguing this software, but there are also plenty of people out there who are getting the most out of Motion and are doing quality and professional work with it.

Good luck with AE, and the AE forums.

PS: Wait until you have to learn expressions. If that doesn't make you want to pull your hair out... 🙂

Andy is right. Most people who post here are here because they have a problem that needs fixing. It is very rare for people to come here and say everything is ok (although it does happen occasionally) so the perspective is skewed somewhat.

I don't really know why you want to go to the effort of uninstalling it but to save the operating system reinstall mentioned earlier in this thread you could try this:
http://www.digitalrebellion.com/fcs_remover.htm

And then reinstall, deselecting Motion. But that's probably more time-consuming than it is worth.
