Move iTunes Music folder in Vista

In XP I would just do Edit -> preferences -> advanced -> general and click keep folder organized and then cl.ick change and change it to point at my external drive E:\itunes and it would show all my songs etc. Now when I do that nothing happens. When I open iTunes it still creates an iTunes folder under my music, which i do NOT want. I want everything stored on my external drive. Any suggestions? Thanks

Hold Shift when starting iTunes and select *Create new library*.

This is different than iTunes prefs -> Advanced and changing the *iTunes music folder location.*

the itunes folder on my external drive has a library file and everything already, so will creating a new library delete the library file I have there or just use the existing one? Thanks

Then select *Choose existing library* and select the iTunes library file on the external.
