setting page SIZE in INCHES?

Using Pages I want to create a custom page size. When I go to page setup the sizes are in centimeters. The template from my printer is in inches; changing everything over to centimeters creates weird problems.

I just want to resize my original document in INCHES. Is there anywhere I can change the print\page setup preference to read in INCHES?

I'm not sure about your location, but that could affect the default settings (inches vs. cm). I found two places you might want to try for a solution...

To make changes regarding Pages units (which affect the inspector: margins, object location in the metric inspector, etc.), go to Pages-->Preferences and change 'Ruler Units' from Centimeters to Inches.

To make changes regarding Page Size units (which affect the custom page size you are probably trying to correct), go to the Apple Menu-->System Preferences-->International (top row)-->Format and change the 'Measurement Units' (all the way at the bottom) from Metric to US.

I hope this helps!

Thank you Clea and BD,

Much appreciated. Works grand. Didn't even have to reboot. I can stop grinding my teeth. Now if I could just figure out how to take a 'legal size' PAGES document full of graphics and text boxes and reduce it down by 2-3 inches without losing all my formatting or having to adjust every single item ... I would be a happy camper.

I know I could possibly re-size it going to a printer. Mmm. I wonder if I can resize it going to a PDF??

Thank you most kindly for your help...

Ben
