I created a dashboard widget using the "open in dashboard" command in Safari, and would like to modify it (the widget). Where are widgets of that type stored, and what might they be named? It doesn't show up in the normal places.

Hover your cursor over the Widget on the Dashboard and Click on the *
i* which appears in the lower right hand corner of the Widget. That action will flip the Widget and reveal an "Edit" button.
OK, I see the "edit", click it, and I can move the image around in the widget, but there's no code visible. Let me explain a little more.
The item I opened in dashboard is one small section of a larger web page. The edit function allows me to scroll that entire web page in my widget window, and reveal a different section.
What I want to be able to do is allow the user to change the zip code that's part of the URL that brings up the page. I think I can hack this into existence using Dashcode, if I can find the code for the widget.
Maybe, since it appears that the entire web page is loaded and only the one small section revealed, there is no real widget. I'll bet, as I think about it, that Safari just hands Dashboard a web page (URL) and a clipping window, and Dashboard uses that in a generic widget and keeps a list of Safari URL/clipping windows instead of building a separate widget for each one.
I think I can hack this into existence using Dashcode, if I can find the code for the widget.
In that case, I can only point you in another direction for further exploration on your part. Widgets for all users are stored in the Widgets folder which can be found in your Macintosh HD/Library/Widgets folder. Look for a "Web Clip" Widget. The Widget is a package file which can be opened by using (Contol + Click) and following the "Show Package Contents" contextual menu link. What happens when you get that far is beyond my knowledge to explore.

Thanks a lot. I found the Web Click widget and opened it - it seems like, unlike my theory, there will be a widget for each clipping. The Web Clip I found was for one I'd made a few months ago, playing around. The new one must be around somewhere...
