Terminal says 'you have mail'

When I now open Terminal I get a message saying "You have mail". It didn't use to see this even when I had some mail unopened in Mail. Is there some mail that I need to access via Terminal and if so how do I do this?

Hi,

this is the system mail account and has nothing to do with Mail.app. You can type <mail> to look at your mails. There's probably just a system message in your inbox or something similar. To find out about the options this command has type <man mail>. This will show you its manual page. You can scroll up and down with the arrow keys and leave the manual with <q>.
