Double Music in itunes

I had the same thing happen, for reasons I don't understand. Unfortunately, I just had to manually go through and delete the duplicates. In my case, it was about 20% of my music, with 7758 songs. It took a few hours. I don't know if anyone has a better suggestion.

I had the same thing happen to me too! I went through and deleted the duplicates but then it screwed up some of the remaining songs so now half the time it tells me it can't find the song. Ugh! This happened after I burned all my songs to CD to move my iTunes to a new computer. I installed Itunes on the new computer then inserted all my burned CDs one at a time and uploaded the library and now I have all the duplicates!
