External Display shows different photo than Desktop

I'm making presentations on an external TV via a VGA adaptor. When it is just showing my display desktop, it shows a photo that is no longer set as my desktop. Weird. How can I fix this? I want it to display a slide show and I've been successful getting that to show on my MAC display, but the darned TV is still showing the old photo. Spooky!

Just change the desktop picture for the external display: System Prefs --> Desktop and Screensaver

thanks, but it is changed already on macbook display -- but the tv is showing the photo that was on my desktop before I changed it. Even a week later plugging it in to the TV again, it's still the old photo.

You can change the desktop picture for both displays individually. Hook up the TV and change the picture. Easy.
