Airport Extreme & D-Link DWL G520

Airport Extreme & D-Link DWL G520

Just bought a brand new Airport Extreme base station, and it works fine with my Mac & HP Laptop, but I cannot get my Desktop PC connected w/ D-Link DWL G520 Wireless Adpater. It just sits there saying it's "Acquiring Network Address".

The base station is currently set to;

Radio Mode: 802.11n (802.11a compatible)
Channel: Automatic
Wireless Security: WPA/WPA2 Personal

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your D-Link PCI card is a 802.11b/g device. You will need to change the radio mode on the 802.11n AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBSn) to 802.11n (b/g compatible), 802.11b/g compatible, 802.11g only or 802.11b only in order for this card to connect.

802.11g only or 802.11b only are not available options. There's 802.11n (802.11a compatible), 802.11n (2.4GHz), or 802.11n only (5.4GHz) available.

Very odd, I just went down to check and see if that did the trick. Now it's showing I am connected, but Firefox, IE and Outlook still do not connect?

That is correct, but not what you originally posted, and why I replied as I did.

802.11g only or 802.11b only are not available options.

The "trick" to getting to these options is to hold down the Option key when selecting Radio Modes.

It sounds like the PC is not picking up an IP address from the AirPort's DHCP service. You may want to check the IP address that it is currently set as. The default range provided by the AirPort is 10.0.1.2 - 10.0.1.200.

It all came down to selecting "Share a public IP address" under >Internet>Connection Sharing in Airport Utility.
