Drive not recognizing Blank Princo DVDs

I just ordered and received 200 Princo 4x DVD-Rs because I have one of the early G5s with the Sony DVD RW DW-U10A, that is a 4x writer. These Princo blanks seemed to be some of the only 4x DVDs still around. Now when I put them in drive, my G5 doesn't recognize them, they spin around for a couple minutes, then the drive just kicks them out.

What's weird is, the drive can see and write to 16x Memorex blanks just fine. And when I put the 4x Princos in my girlfriend's MacBook Pro, they are immediately recognized and work just fine. What gives? Ever seen anything like this? It bums me out that I went to the trouble to purchase 4x speed DVDs to avoid complications, and that seems to have completely backfired on me.

Any advice or thoughts would be appreciated.

Yeah, thanks for the advice. It has been a finicky drive for me, but in general has given me almost no bad burns over the past 4.5 years, this is the first time it's rejected media.

Those Princo DVDs though, they are the white tops, they feel really light, and I'm thinking that they're not much in terms of quality...oh well, I had been using Yuden's for the past few years with great results, but when I could no longer get their 4x media, I thought the most important thing (based on some misleading posts I read) was to acquire 4x media.

Anyway,

Thanks everyone for the responses.
