Re setting timeline options viable in motion 3.

On the timeline editor, why is "group" filmstrip not a combination of its lower layers. I am trying to fine tuning keyframes and need to see the different frames as if animatated with the kwyframes directly below. i.e to view when a ball hits another. I can of course have the canvas open, but I use many, many layers and quite often only have the keyframe editor/timeline viewable in motion 3.

Also I work only in 2D... how can I get rid of the Z axis on the editor its annoying on 2D

hi

welcome to the forum.

well the short answer is you can't get rid of the z axis, cant think of any reason why you would. However if you close the Position triangle in the Inspector you will only be shown the x and y axis.

The canvas is of course the best way to see whats happening in your animation, the thumbnails are only a guide, and for some people can cause real slow downs, so I turn mine off. I have many many layers as well, but I try to group them sensibly to make navigation easier. Sometimes it is just plain complicated, but then thats why we get paid the big bucks eh?
