Logitech Z Cinema and OS X?

I've bought a Bose Companion 5 system a few days ago, only to discover that its volume can't be controlled from the Mac, like with every other USB audio speakers or headphones. (Great otherwise.)

I'll return them and I'd get the Logitech Z Cinema instead. The Logitech Z-10 work fine on the Mac, I assume the Z Cinema will too. All I need is to be able to control the sound volume from the Mac; I don't care much about the remote control, not even about the controls on the speakers.

I just finished hooking up a Z Cinema to my G5. All the basics work fine. Some of the remote functions work, some don't. Power, volume, track up and down, treble, bass and mute all work. Keyboard volume works. I am not sure about some of the advanced functions, but so far everything seems pretty well supported.

I am curious if anyone knows of an app to map the other remote functions,

sorry I didn't get back to you. The thing is, I've got lazy and didn't return the Bose after all. They do sound great and they look awesome next to my Sony Bravia TV

I'll just live with the second sound control. When I'll get my own office--just started working part time as a freelancer--I'll put the Bose on my new desk and get the Z Cinema for the home media center.

I've bought today the Logitech Z Cinema System. Of course first of all I've tried to connect them to my Macbook pro, but wasn't successful.
The first time I've pluged the system in a notice came, where I was told to install the new keybord. Of course since this wasn't a keyboard I wasn't able to get them functional. The second time I pluged the Z Cinema in the macbook even didn't recognize them at all.
So please can you help me, how do I connect them proparly?

Even though I am able to use the speakers on my mac pro, I am still struggling with a problem.
I am able to control the volume with the remote control or the keyboard, but I am not able to control the bass or treble.
Does someone have a solution to that problem ?
Honestly, I don't care to much about the problem if I listen to the music, but I would like to change the bass while I am watching a movie.
Well I have found a way how to change the bass, but I need to switch to windows (parallels) and then go back to mac.
So I would appreciate some of your help.

hey guys, am really hoping someone can help me out

i bought the Logitech Z Cinema 2.1 speakers a few days ago. now, i have a 2.53Ghz Macbook Pro hooked up to a 24" Apple LED Cinema Display

the speakers work great on the MBP when i am booted into XP but the second i boot back into Leopard, the speakers get finicky. Does anyone know how I can change the volume when it Leopard? For some reason the speakers completely lock out in Leopard, I can't use the remote to change volume

My biggest problem though is when I use my Apple Bluetooth keyboard to try and change volume, the volume changes in the built in speaker of the display. How do I synch the volume so I can control the Z Cinema Speakers via the main volume control? Thanks guys

Connect your MB with a usual jack cable to the AUX input Logitech Speakers.

To change the volume, simply use your apple remote or bluetooth keaboard.

Logitech can't help but ignore Mac users waving their wallets, the company is too absorbed by the hoards of Windows users forcing money into their pockets 🙂

You may want to try Marc's LogitechLCDTool, it works with the Z-10, so it may as well support the Z Cinema http://www.entropy.ch/software/macosx/lcdtool/

Everything works fine now. Just forgotten to switch to Z Cinema System Mac OS menu.
