ipod won't turn off in bose sounddock portable

hi there, have just bought a new 160gb ipod classic and a sounddock portable, and when i'm done listening to music, the ipod will not go off, i have backlight turned to on, but the battery charged logo stays shining out, it will switch off if i unplug the sounddock.. but for the first few days of owning it, it did turn off... weird..??? is this an ipod software problem? went to nearest apple store they were clueless about it.. any ideas?

Hi I too own a Bose Portable Soundock and as far as i know the ipod will charge once its in the docking station i.e once you keep the sound dock plugged in or the battery has charge the ipod will keep charging. hence its not a software problem its supposed to do that. hope this answers your query. BTW don't u think the sound of BOSE Sound dock is just great for such a little unit.
