AU delay time (apple's delay)/ automation

Hello all, has anyone else noticed that you can't record any "delay time" automation with the AUdelay plugin. All the other parameters work fine ie. mix, feedback, low-pass cut..... As a matter of fact the "delay time parameter" isn't available in the automation selection dialoge. is it me?
