Cannot copy/paste text and images at the same time.

Hi there,
By chance, I found out that I cannot copy/paste text and images simultaneously from an application to another.
I've tried to copy them from firefox, safari to Word and Pages, then copy from Word to pages, but only texts are copied.
After an hour searching on the net, I realize that because the built-in clipboard of mac os x can only contains 1 kinds of format at a time, so either text or images can be copied, but not both.
Then I tried testing some clipboard extenders for Mac: jumpcut, CopyPaste Pro, CopyPaste-X, PTHPasteBoard. But none of them provide the feature of simultaneous text+image copy.

Is there any other software out there that provide this feature. I think this is a common issue to any computer user, so there must be a way to solve it.

Please help me, thanks in advance.

My problem is that I cannot paste text and image +at the same time.+
Please try this link: http://www.flixster.com/user/ladydeedee1/quiz/movie-star-kiddos
It contains some images from films and questions related to the image. Please try copying from Firefox/Safari to Word or pages. The iamges will be replaced by the # symbol.
Then try copying an image alone from firefox to word, replace an # symbol by that image, then copy and paste that whole image and text from word to pages. Once again, only texts can be pasted.

There are 2 different issues here.

1) Copying a mix of text and graphics from say Word to another location. There should be no problem doing this because when you select all or drag to select both will be included in the selection usually.

2) Copying web pages. Here there is a different problem depending on how the page has been constructed. In many cases a Select All will select only a portion of the web page and not always the portion you want. There may be a way of doing this but I don't know how. I just tried copying the Apple Support main page but the graphics don't copy & paste as graphics. Other web pages may allow you to copy the graphics but as a separate process from the text. Some don't allow images to be copied at all.

I have just tried a particular website as an experiment. When I did a Select All and pasted into a new Word document only the text blocks pasted. I then tried copying the graphics no luck with click/copy/paste - only a web reference to the image. I tried copying the image from this web page - again only a reference to it. I then did a right click (or control-click) and saved the image to the desktop. I then inserted the image file into Word and there was the image. I can then select this image and the text already copied and paste the bundle into another place. For some of these it might be necessary to shift-click or cmd-click to gather the multiple components into one copy/paste action once out of the browser environment.

Hope this helps clarify the issue for you.

I think the solution is what I wrote near the end of my 2). If the graphics are not pasted into the text of the Word document as in-line pastes when you drag or cmd-a the text it will miss the graphics. Add the graphics to the text collection by holding the Apple key then clicking on each graphic. When your selection is complete do the copy and paste. In some programs the paste will put all the graphics at the end so that you then have to reposition them.

Thanks a lot for your help. Could you please tell me what kind of mac you have? Do you install MC Office too? I have MS Office 2008, iWork 2008, textEdit and textMate installed on my macbook Pro. Maybe there is a conflict between these applications, I guess.
Should you suggest me somewhere I can contact to solve this problem? Maybe the phone support of Apple? I've just bought my laptop in April.

I'm not shure, but I think there is no solution from Apple! Bad thing 😉

I had the same problem in the past. You can not copy and paste text and images at the same time with the following combinations:

Firefox - Open Office / NeoOffice
Firefox - MS Office 2004 / 2008
Firefox - iWorks '08 (other versions not tested)
Safari - Open Office / NeoOffice
Safari - MS Office 2004 / 2008

So the question is, what is working now for us?
The answer is:

With OSX you can only copy and paste text and images simultaneously
with these combination!

Safari - iWorks '08 (other versions not tested)

But I don't know why this is a problem in OSX
