Missing XDCAM EX Codec

Hi All,

I am using a Sony XDCAM EX, Final Cut Pro 6.0.3, and Quicktime Version 7.4.5 on Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.2.

I have the camera connected to my iMac (Intel) via USB and am attempting to import footage into FCP using the XDCAM Transfer Software by Sony (Version 2.7), when I start the XDCAM Transfer software a window appears "Installed Components" it says I am missing a codec "XDCAM EX codecs" - as a result the clip META data loads and shows yet I cannot preview the clips or import them.

I do not understand how this is possible as all of my software is up to date? Is there a way of adding the XDCAM EX codec to FCP manually??

Any help would be much appreciated as I currently have a camera that is useless and an editing system that won't work.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.5.2)
