Synth Matrix Router

Crew,

Having a bit of trouble getting my head around the concept for matrix routers in synths.

- I gather that if say, Mod wheel is the source and cutoff is the destination, you can control cutoff with your mod wheel??

- What about for things that aren't controlled by you, so like if volume was the source and cutoff the destination?? I need a bit of basic theory with this stuff, any reference material?

- Exs24 seems to introduce a 'via' module, how does this affect things?

- what the 'sample select' field in exs24 represent?

- how does the slider to the right of each router affect things??

Thanks guys!!

mike.

The ES2 section explains the matrix router section not too shabby.

You seem to have the basic concepts for the matrix router. Experiment a little so you can hear the results. Don't hesitate to experiment... worst comes to worse, you reset the patch.

The 'via' option is, in its simplest form, adding a controller to a modulator, such as adding a mod wheel to control one of your LFO's which is in turn controlling an oscillator. The slider will change to give you a maximum and minimum control amount.

Now go play... 🙂
