Procedure to pair a bluetooth headset to the iphone??

This is the first time that I have ever used the bluetooth on my iPhone. I just received a Motorola H550 bluetooth headset. This lists the iPhone as compatible. Is there some special procedure to follow to get it to pair? I turned on the headset and let it come on completely, then went to setting and turned on the bluetooth on the iPhone. It recognized the H550 Device, but the spinning gear continued and showed "Not Paired". It also says "Now Discoverable" Did I miss something? It has been updated to 1.1.4.

Hey Herschel,

It sounds like you'll need to put the Motorola headset into a discoverable mode. Generally this is done by holding down a button or pressing multiple buttons until you see it blink. You'll have to check the manual that came with the headset to find the exact way to make the headset discoverable.

The directions that came with the headset or the website itself was not very clear how to make the headset discoverable. However, I clicked on the "Motorola H550" name and a screen opened to put in a PIN number. I did not have a clue what it should be, but the directions referenced a PIN number when using a Motorola phone and this worked. Thanks for your help.

If you can't find the PIN for your headset in the paperwork that came with it, try , 1 2 3 4. That has been the pin for many headsets I've tried.
