"disc recording not found" and I can't burn cd's

"disc recording not found" and I can't burn cd's

I can not burn cd's using itunes anymore. itunes tells me "disc recording not found" after I right click a playlist and choose burn playlist to disc. Also when I open itunes it gives me a warning and says "The registry settings used by the itunes drivers for importingand burning cd's and dvds are missing. Please reinstall itunes."

I can't find any "reinstall" button or option anywhere in itunes. Also, I can't find anyway to unistall itunes. There is no "uninstall" option under the itunes tab on the start menue or when I right click the icon.

I am scared to unistall itunes because it took me a long time to name all my songs and artists correctly and I do not want to loose that information.

Please help,

With that one let's first try a reboot and repair.

Reboot the PC (very important), and the do a *repair install* of iTunes.

Go to your "Add or Remove Programs" control panel, select iTunes, click "Change" and then click "Repair".

Does iTunes launch without the error message now?

If no luck there, try checking for a device filter conflict in your registry:

I had this same exact problem. Repairing iTunes through the "Add/Remove Programs" function worked perfectly!

I am having a problem when I try and burn a cd it has a message that pops-up that says "An unknown error occurred (2131)" I reinstalled itunes but still the same thing, do you have any idea what I should do? Thanks.
